This is a leadership role with significant exposure to senior stakeholders, providing expert accounting advisory on complex transactions and driving compliance across the Group.

The Role

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly reporting packs, as well as half-year and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Lead the monthly Group consolidation process, ensuring timely and accurate IFRS-based reporting.
  • Maintain and update the Group Accounting Policy Manual, ensuring best practices and compliance across all entities.
  • Manage relationships with Big 4 external auditors, overseeing statutory audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and respond to audit queries.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure their timely implementation in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with various departments and senior management to develop the annual budget, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Consolidate and analyse financial data to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide insights and recommendations to management for effective decision-making.
  • Maintain oversight of the GL and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets, mitigate risks, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare management reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, to support strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling as required.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legal requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of internal control frameworks.
  • Identify areas of improvement in financial processes and systems, proposing and implementing solutions.

The Person

  • Big 4 trained Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, CPA, SOCPA, ACCA, CMA, or CGMA) with at least 10+ years of technical accounting experience.
  • Strong expertise in IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Experience in managing Group Consolidation, External Financial Reporting and coordinating with Big 4 Audit Firms in managing external audits.
  • Proven leadership in managing financial reporting teams in a large, global organisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage at C-suite and board level.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial matters.
  • First-class written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organisation.
