As an Oncology/Solid Tumors Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL), you will provide a field-based medical service in the form of non-promotional medical support/engagement that ensures the safe and effective use of GSK's medicines. MSL is expected to drive effective scientific interactions with External Experts (EEs) and provide support to GSK clinical development & Key Evidence Generation programs. It is also expected that MSLs should partner with commercial to share & interpret medical insights and provide scientific support for GSK internal stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide product and disease area information to external customers through direct scientific interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs), including data presentations and responding to enquiries.
  • Act as the field-based scientific expert in the specific Therapeutic Area (TA), clinical practice, and competitors landscape.
  • Develop insights through expertise and external interactions to assist in the development and execution of innovative Medical Affairs strategies and plans that support GSK's development of medicines of value for patients and customers.
  • Ensure that the language and activities of the MSL reflect the medical nature of the role, being fair, balanced, non-promotional, scientific, and evidence-based.
  • Ensure full compliance with GSK Code, SOPs, and local laws & regulations for all country medical and promotional activities, in line with the principles of Scientific Engagement.
  • Manage in-market activities in a TA in coordination with the Medical Manager/Group Medical Manager.

Internal Client Group:

  • Work with colleagues in the Medical team to identify External Experts (EEs), professional groups, decision makers, and other key stakeholders for their assigned TA and/or geography.
  • Secure timely KPIs Veeva entry in line with governing processes/timelines.
  • Align with stakeholders on tasks related to Omnichannel, Medical information queries, PV, and activities archiving process.
  • Ensure full alignment with Management Monitoring process.
  • Provide field medical insights/input for TA strategy adjustment/enhancement.
  • Deliver Scientific Engagement activities and document all interactions with HCPs.
  • Liaise with the medical Manager to prepare and conduct Scientific training for GSK sales representatives regarding GSK products and the conditions they treat utilizing approved Sales Training materials.

External Customer Base:

  • Uphold GSK's commitment to patient focus, transparency, and integrity in all interactions and information exchanges between GSK and external communities.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with EEs (e.g., HCPs, Payers, Patient groups) to generate insights and secure advice that informs GSK's development of medicines for the benefit of patients.
  • Conduct individual (1:1 type) proactive/reactive discussions with GSK contracted clinical study investigators, steering committee members, advisory board members, and consultants on topics related to GSK's work.
  • Communicate safety data to HCPs in group settings to supplement the Dear Healthcare Provider Letter (DHPL) process or in circumstances approved by the GSK Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or delegate.
  • Deliver scientific presentations to formulary committees as appropriate for Neuroscience-Urology and LOC.
  • Facilitate or participate in GSK-sponsored Advisory Boards where appropriate and in alignment with Scientific Engagement principles.
  • Attend scientific meetings to gather information on recent data being presented on products and disease states of interest to GSK or to address HCP's unsolicited questions regarding GSK products.
  • Provide scientifically accurate, fair-balanced, on-label information regarding the safety and efficacy of GSK products and off-label information in response to unsolicited questions only.

Medical Information:

  • Respond in a timely and accurate manner to unsolicited requests for on or off-label information or safety concerns from HCPs in verbal, written, or presentation forms and document these responses on relevant portals.
  • Secure full alignment with GSK ways of working in relation to relevant systems, documentation & archiving of MI queries.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have a Medical Degree or Pharmaceutical degree.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Medical Representative.
  • Must have oncology experience.
  • Must have a valid license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
  • Solid tumors/Gynaecological malignancies experience is preferred.
  • Fluent in professional English; Arabic language is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills, with a high ability to convey messages successfully to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Postgraduate study in Oncology is an advantage.
