As an Oncology/Solid Tumors Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL), you will provide a field-based medical service in the form of non-promotional medical support/engagement that ensures the safe and effective use of GSK's medicines. MSL is expected to drive effective scientific interactions with External Experts (EEs). Provides support to GSK clinical development & Key Evidence Generation programs. It is also expected that MSLs should partner with commercial to share & interpret medical insights and provide scientific support for GSK internal stakeholders.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Provide product and disease area information to external customers through direct scientific interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs), including data presentations and responding to enquiries.
  2. The MSL is the field-based scientific expert in the specific Therapeutic Area (TA), clinical practice, and competitors' landscape.
  3. Develop insights through expertise and external interactions to assist in the development and execution of innovative Medical Affairs strategies and plans that support GSK's development of medicines of value for patients and customers.
  4. The language and activities of the MSL must reflect the medical nature of the role, be fair, balanced, non-promotional, scientific, and evidence-based.
  5. Ensure full compliance with GSK Code, SOPs, and local laws & regulations for all country medical and promotional activities, in line with the principles of Scientific Engagement.
  6. Manage in-market activities in a TA in coordination with the Medical Manager/Group Medical Manager.

Internal Client Group:

  1. Work with colleagues in the Medical team to identify EEs, professional groups, decision makers, and other key stakeholders for their assigned TA and/or geography.
  2. Secure timely KPIs Veeva entry in line with governing process/timelines.
  3. Ensure alignment with tasks related to Omnichannel, Medical information queries, PV, and activities archiving process.
  4. Provide field medical insights/input for TA strategy adjustment/enhancement.
  5. Deliver Scientific Engagement activities and document all interactions with HCPs.
  6. Liaise with the medical Manager to prepare and conduct Scientific training for GSK sales representatives regarding GSK products.

External Customer Base:

General

  1. Uphold GSK's commitment to patient focus, transparency, and integrity in all interactions with external communities.

KEEs Interactions

  1. Conduct peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with EEs to generate insights that inform GSK's development of medicines for the benefit of patients.
  2. Conduct individual proactive/reactive discussions and meetings with GSK contracted clinical study investigators, steering committee members, advisory board members, and consultants.
  3. Communicate safety data to HCPs to supplement the Dear Healthcare Provider Letter process.
  4. Deliver scientific presentations to formulary committees as appropriate.
  5. Participate in GSK-sponsored Advisory Boards in alignment with Scientific Engagement principles.
  6. Attend scientific meetings to gather information on recent data and address HCP's unsolicited questions regarding GSK products.
  7. Provide scientifically accurate, fair-balanced, on-label information regarding the safety and efficacy of GSK products.

Medical Information:

  1. Respond in a timely and accurate manner to unsolicited requests for on or off-label information from HCPs and document these responses.
  2. Secure alignment with GSK ways of working regarding relevant systems and documentation.

Clinical Operations:

  1. Support clinical development activities by participating in site identification and assessment processes.
  2. Assist in the development of research project proposals for funding consideration.
  3. Identify gaps that need Key Evidence Generation studies.

Complexity:

  1. Requires appropriate knowledge of TA and some experience in the Saudi market.
  2. Work in a multi-cultural and multi-departmental environment across multiple countries.
  3. Medium complex job with reasonable accountability.
  4. Matrix teams of medical, regulatory, sales, and marketing.
  5. Diverse operational functions, clinical trials, KEEs relationships, training, and therapeutic committees.

Why you?

Job Qualifications:

  1. Must have Medical Degree or Pharmaceutical degree.
  2. Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Med Rep.
  3. Must have oncology experience.
  4. Must have a valid license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
  5. Solid tumors/Gynaecological malignancies experience is preferred.
  6. Proven successful track record.
  7. Fluent in professional English; Arabic is an advantage.
  8. Good Computer skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  9. Good communication skills, with high ability to convey messages successfully to all stakeholders.
  10. Postgraduate study in Oncology is an advantage.
