The Engineering Projects Manager is to oversee and manage engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Major Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Initiation
    • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines and budgets.
  2. Team Leadership and Coordination
    • Manage and guide project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members effectively.
  3. Resource Management
    • Allocate resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
    • Monitor resource utilization to ensure optimal efficiency.
  4. Risk Management
    • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure contingency plans are in place for unforeseen challenges.
  5. Stakeholder Communication
    • Act as the primary point of contact between stakeholders, clients, and team members.
    • Provide regular project updates and address stakeholder concerns.
  6. Budget and Cost Management
    • Oversee project budgets to prevent cost overruns.
    • Approve expenses and ensure financial accountability.
  7. Quality Assurance
    • Ensure all engineering activities meet industry standards and quality requirements.
    • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
  8. Compliance and Safety
    • Ensure all projects comply with safety and regulatory standards.
    • Implement procedures to minimize safety risks.
  9. Monitoring and Progress Tracking
    • Track project progress against milestones and deliverables.
    • Adjust plans as necessary to meet changing circumstances or requirements.
  10. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
    • Address any issues or challenges that arise during project execution.
    • Make informed decisions to keep the project on track.
  11. Reporting and Documentation
    • Prepare detailed project reports for stakeholders and senior management.
    • Maintain thorough documentation of project activities and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management tools like MS Project, Primavera, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of engineering design principles, methods, and standards.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • Understanding safety regulations and compliance requirements.
