Insurance Officer

Job Summary:
The Insurance Officer is responsible for managing the company's insurance policies, handling claims efficiently and ensuring compliance with insurance regulations. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, insurance providers, and external stakeholders to safeguard the organization from financial risks related to claims and losses.
Responsibilities:
Insurance Management:
- Manage and maintain all corporate insurance policies, including cargo, fleet, property, liability, and employee-related insurance.
- Ensure timely renewal of insurance policies and evaluate policy terms to optimize coverage and cost.
- Liaise with insurance brokers, providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure adequate risk coverage.
- Analyze and recommend improvements in insurance coverage based on business needs and risk assessments.
Claims Handling:
- Process and manage insurance claims related to cargo, vehicle, property, and other corporate policies.
- Collect, review, and verify claim documentation to ensure compliance with policy terms and conditions.
- Coordinate with insurers, third-party adjusters, and legal teams for claims resolution.
- Maintain accurate claim records and ensure timely reporting and follow-ups with insurance providers.
Risk & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local and international insurance regulations.
- Monitor claims trends and provide risk mitigation recommendations.
- Support internal audits related to insurance policies and claims.
- Educate internal teams on insurance policies, claim procedures, and risk management practices.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on claims status, insurance coverage, and financial impacts.
- Conduct periodic insurance cost-benefit analysis and recommend policy adjustments.
- Identify patterns in claims data to enhance risk management strategies.
Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent qualification in insurance.
- A minimum of 1-2 years in a similar position, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, claims processing, and risk management practices.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling claims documentation.
- Good understanding of insurance claims negotiation and settlement techniques.
