We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Engineer to provide comprehensive on-site, remote, and after-hours support for our critical infrastructure. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for the operation, management, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, including Alibaba Cloud, along with various key applications and systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identify and resolve issues, implement patches and updates, and ensure the security and availability of our IT environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and operate Alibaba Cloud infrastructure, including provisioning, setup, and configuration of instances, databases, load balancers, security groups, and networks.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
  • Manage backup and recovery solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure.
  • Assist with platform migrations, upgrades, and performance/security optimizations.
  • Manage all systems with expert knowledge.
  • Set up and manage Domain Name Services (DNS) across multi-cloud environments.
  • Install, configure, and manage business applications and databases.
  • Distribute and apply software updates, security patches, and maintenance releases.
  • Ensure only authorized users have access to specific systems and applications.
  • Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies.
  • Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Exchange Server for high availability, performance, and security.
  • Monitor Exchange performance and resolve issues.
  • Manage mailboxes, distribution lists, archiving, and public folders.
  • Configure and manage Active Directory (AD) and multiple directory environments.
  • Set up and maintain Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), and Radius solutions.
  • Configure MFA policies, monitor usage, and generate reports.
  • Deploy and manage a patch management solution.
  • Apply and validate security patches for servers and endpoints.
  • Provide reports on patch compliance and vulnerabilities.
  • Administer Privilege Access Management (PAM) for secure access control.
  • Monitor application performance and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems.
  • Provide user support and guidance on application usage.
  • Escalate and coordinate incident resolution with vendors or third-party providers.
  • Analyze vendor-released security or OS patches and implement them.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement solutions and resolve technical challenges.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience working with multivendor environments.
  • Proven experience managing and operating cloud infrastructure, preferably Alibaba Cloud.
  • Experience managing different operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
  • Fluent knowledge of Exchange Server, Active Directory, ADFS, MFA, RADIUS, and patching management systems.
  • The engineer should have experience with Jira, infrastructure management, and help desk support.
  • Experience with application and database administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide on-call support after working hours as needed.
