This position will be based in our affiliate in Riyadh, KSA, and you will directly report to the Senior Director of Market Access & Public Affairs (MAPA).

The Position

As our Senior Government Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Novo Nordisk Saudi Arabia's Government Affairs strategy to enhance the company's commercial success and reputation. Acting as a key external representative, you will drive advocacy, build strategic partnerships, and engage with stakeholders to improve patient outcomes across diabetes, obesity, and rare diseases.

Your main accountabilities will include:

  1. Develop and implement government relations and advocacy plans to support commercial and reputational goals.
  2. Identify, map, and maintain relationships with key patient organizations, professional associations, and government bodies.
  3. Design and execute external communication plans, including media monitoring, issue management, and public awareness campaigns.
  4. Monitor healthcare sector transformations and external environment changes, providing regular updates and strategic recommendations to the leadership team.
  5. Develop and manage partnership projects aligned with stakeholder needs, while ensuring budget compliance and securing external funding for initiatives.
Qualifications
  1. Relevant academic degree within medical or business background.
  2. At least 8 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record in government affairs, public affairs, or external stakeholder engagement.
  3. Experience in policy shaping, advocacy, and strategic partnerships is highly preferred.
  4. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including those at the executive level.
  5. Demonstrated communication strengths, including internal and external messaging.
  6. Project Management skills.
  7. English proficiency, both written and spoken.
About the Department

The Market Access and Public Affairs (MAPA) function is critical to short-term and strategic affiliate priorities. To keep the focus on those responsibilities, MAPA team members are leading the transformation initiatives and striving for cross-function execution excellence internally and in the field. The function covers pricing activities, key account management for private, Field market access, and public affairs.
