Legal Insurance Specialist

The Legal Insurance Specialist supports the legal analysis activities within the division. They assist in studying claims of insurance disputes and violations, preparing legal memos and addendums, and providing legal advice to internal units of the General Secretariat. The Specialist also contributes to the preparation of specialized legal studies, assists in drafting decisions issued by committees, and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and ActivitiesOperations Management:
- Implementation of Division's policies, regulations, procedures, and controls so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are met while delivering high-quality and cost-effective results.
- Carry out any tasks within the division's jurisdiction as per the function description.
- Execute any tasks as assigned by the relevant authority, which are aligned with the IDC's best interests.
Legal Analysis:
- Assist in studying claims of insurance disputes and violations and contribute to the preparation of legal memos and addendums.
- Support in recommending the appointment of consultants, such as loss assessors and chartered accountants, based on case requirements and committee decisions.
- Contribute to the preparation of specialized legal studies in the field of insurance, litigation procedures, and other relevant areas as needed.
- Collaborate with the Financial and Technical Analysis Unit to obtain financial or technical opinions when required.
- Conduct research and refer to relevant regulations and judicial precedents to support legal analysis.
- Assist in drafting decisions issued by committees falling within the division's jurisdiction, following legal drafting methods.
- Update and maintain accurate case information in the automated system, following division procedures and delegated authority.
- Assist in preparing letters related to the work of the division and respond to inquiries received, as directed by the Section Head.
- Perform any other related job duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience:
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in legal, insurance management, dispute management or any related field.
- Previous experience in government sector or regulatory bodies is preferred.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in law or any other related field.
- Relevant certification is preferred.
