Senior Manager, PMO Strategic Planning

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager of Strategic Planning & Governance plays a pivotal role in the Esports World Cup (EWC) project, overseeing the development and implementation of strategic initiatives while ensuring project alignment with organizational goals. This position is critical in navigating the complex and dynamic environment of EWC, focusing on enhancing agility and flexibility while maintaining a single source of truth and aligned channels of communication and documentation. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of adapting to the fast-paced and ever-changing landscape of esports events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage a Team of PMO Coordinators in a direct reporting line
• Establish and maintain the Scope of Work (SoW) process, ensuring it remains up-to-date and reflective of project changes
• Develop and implement a robust change management process for the SoW to accommodate the dynamic environment of EWC
• Create and manage a workshop framework for internal and external stakeholders, including monthly client facing office visits in Riyadh and workshops
• Design and oversee internal and external meeting structures, including agenda setting, action item tracking, and moderation
• Implement and maintain an effective communication plan for regular updates across aligned channels, including Slack channel structure
• Develop and manage an escalation process for stakeholders to raise critical issues, ensuring timely resolution of potential roadblocks
• Oversee the implementation of a centralized documentation system, including Drive structure for internal and external documentation
• Roll out and manage task management tools to enhance project efficiency
• Collaborate with other PMO managers to ensure strategic alignment across all 3 PMO functions
• Facilitate strategic decision-making support to the project leadership, helping navigate priorities based on change requests
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategic goals and project deliverables
• Identify and mitigate potential risks to project success through proactive planning and risk management strategies
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and best practices within the strategic planning process
• Support the development of long-term strategic plans for the EWC project, considering market trends and competitive landscape

Requirements

• Demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking with the ability to navigate complex project environments and maintain a single source of truth for Scope of Work (SoW) processes
• 4+ years working in Gaming, eSports, Entertainment or Sports
• Possess advanced project management expertise to facilitate cross-functional workshops and meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Superior communication skills to develop and maintain effective communication channels across multiple organizational levels
• Show proven capability in change management, particularly in adapting to dynamic project environments and implementing flexible governance frameworks
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills to support strategic decision-making and prioritize project initiatives
• Showcase proficiency in documentation management and centralized information systems
• Display advanced skills in using project management tools and software for efficient tracking and coordination
• Leadership capabilities in creating and maintaining standardized processes across complex organizational structures
