Directs overall Information Security Operations work within an organization, establishes vision and direction for its cybersecurity and related strategies, resources and activities and advises the leadership on the effective management of the organization's cyber risks. Responsible for robust Incident Response and digital forensics. Ensures Security Operations Center operates using the best practices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Managerial Responsibilities

  1. Advocate cybersecurity related topics with senior management, to ensure the organization's strategic goals include cybersecurity.
  2. Supervise and effectively assign work to staff working on cybersecurity Security Operations related tasks.
  3. Allocate resources to cybersecurity roles specific to Security Operations.
  4. Promote awareness of cyber policy and strategy in context of Security Operations as appropriate among the organization's management.
  5. Promote and demonstrate the value of Cybersecurity Security Operations to stakeholders within an organization.

Functional Responsibilities

  1. Effectively communicate financial aspects of Security Operations related activities to senior management.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure Security Operations business continuity and disaster recovery programs meet organizational requirements.
  3. Effectively manage vulnerability remediation.
  4. Work with Management, Subordinates and other stakeholders on policies, processes and procedures relating to cybersecurity operations and privacy.
  5. Ensure that appropriate controls are in place to effectively mitigate risk and address privacy concerns during a risk assessment process.
  6. Ensure sound principles are reflected in the organization's mission, vision and goals.
  7. Obtain resources to develop and implement effective processes to meet strategic cybersecurity goals.
  8. Understand and communicate an organization's cybersecurity status during legal and regulatory scrutiny.
  9. Communicate effectively with third parties in the event of a cybersecurity incident.
  10. Review the effectiveness of the organization's cybersecurity Operation controls against its strategic goals.
  11. Manage the regular review and maintenance of the organization's Security Operations specific policy and associated documentation.
  12. Ensure that appropriate actions are taken to mitigate the risk in the event of a cybersecurity incident.
  13. Ensure cybersecurity requirements of all information technology systems are determined.
  14. Develop and maintain appropriate cybersecurity policies and related documentation to ensure the organization's critical infrastructure is appropriately protected.
  15. Collaborate with stakeholders in the organization and with third parties when identifying future cybersecurity strategy requirements.
  16. Identify and recruit appropriately skilled resources to address cybersecurity Operations activities within the organization.
  17. Attend and present the Company at international cybersecurity events.
  18. Obtain relevant resource to implement and maintain the cybersecurity Operations aspects of an effective business continuity plan.
  19. Develop and maintain a cybersecurity strategy that aligns to the organization's business strategy.
  20. Ensure that cybersecurity requirements for Security Operations are aligned with the organization's cybersecurity strategy.
  21. Manage financial aspects of cybersecurity, including budgeting and resourcing.
  22. Ensure the effective communication of cybersecurity threats and mitigations to interested third parties.
  23. Work with the organization's legal advisers and relevant third parties to ensure that all services comply with privacy and data security requirements.
  24. Work with the organization's legal advisers, management and other stakeholders to ensure the organization has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality documentation.
  25. Provide leadership on the committee responsible for the oversight of data privacy.
  26. Ensure compliance with privacy practices in the Security Operations of the organization.
  27. Work with legal and HR teams to develop appropriate sanctions for failure to comply with the organization's privacy policies and procedures.
  28. Ensure that privacy compliance monitoring activities are carried out on an ongoing basis.
  29. Work with the Information Security GM, legal counsel and senior management to manage privacy incidents and breaches in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  30. Coordinate incident response functions when needed at higher level.
  31. Ensure that chain of custody is followed for all acquired digital media in accordance with national law or organizational policies as applicable.
  32. Build relationships between the incident response team and internal and external partners.
  33. Provide criminal investigative support to legal authorities during the judicial process.
  34. Provide current intelligence support to critical internal/external stakeholders as appropriate.
  35. Evaluate threat decision-making processes.
  36. Ensure an audit log of evidence of security measures is maintained.
  37. Review, conduct or participate in audits of cyber programs and projects.
  38. Make recommendations to enable effective remediation of vulnerabilities.
  39. Use reviews to recommend new or revised security, resilience and dependability measures.
  40. Provide input to or develop courses of action based on understanding of threat.
  41. Support threat and vulnerability analysis and cybersecurity advisory services and recommendations.
  42. Coordinate and provide expert technical support to the organization's cybersecurity team to resolve ICS/OT cybersecurity incidents.
  43. Analyze and report on trends in the organization's security posture.
  44. Make cybersecurity recommendations to leadership based on significant threats and vulnerabilities.
  45. Assist in assessing the impact of implementing and sustaining a dedicated cyber defense infrastructure.
