The role holder is responsible for managing, advising and providing technical expertise in the area of internal audit. In addition, they are responsible for advising on the operational mandates within their area of work to minimise operational, financial and business risks. The role holder responsible of managing the process of conducting regular audit practice internally. The role holder shall carry out job duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Managerial Responsibilities
- Directs and manages the internal audit team mandates, providing leadership and facilitating work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
- Interprets and implements change in the internal audit team providing guidance and support, necessary for continuous improvement.
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures and quality standards in the pool of team Core Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice in documenting and developing STC’s governance and regulatory framework in line with the applicable regulations, laws, procedures and professional ethics.
- Advice in defining the auditing approach for a defined work unit, so that non - compliance and irregularities are recognised and audit protocols are adopted.
- Act as an advisor, providing expertise on operational work processes, policies and compliance guidelines pertaining to audit.
- Present an informed independent opinion on Information systems, Network, Finance, Investments and other New Business effectiveness.
- Recommend and promotes high standards of control and risk management for focus areas in Information systems, Network, Finance, Investments and businesses.
- Follow-up on the results of investigation with related departments and ensures that precautionary measures are developed and put in place to minimize future risk, fraud incidents, and implements new preventive and detective controls as necessary.
- Advise management regarding focus area of audit activities and findings.
- Provide an ‘outside in’ perspective and ensures that a world class system encompassing all internal audit practices are adopted, instituted and complied with.
- Provide recommendations, remedial actions and measures for course correction on specific escalations.
- Advise on the formulation of internal audit initiatives and ensures communication and implementation the.

- Advise on preparing completed audits and audit reports and submitting to concerned stakeholders and to the management.
- Analyse reports and metrics, identifying potential issues and undertaking preventive measures to mitigate relevant technical and operational risks.
- Maintain external awareness of developments in technology with respect to areas under direct control, in order to identify relevant projects and tasks for audit. People Management Responsibilities
- Directs planning and selection of manpower in the for the internal audit team, in line with the business and operational plans.
- Ensures high level of employee engagement and capability development by providing on-going feedback and coaching team members within the pool. Performs other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Director - internal audit in order to meet sector objectives.
