Lims Engineer

Job Description and Requirements

**JOB SUMMARY**

Responsible for the governance and control of ACES Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) data operations to ensure that all departments adhere to ACES operation policies and procedures, provide know-how guidance for users, and update and modifies user manuals and system documentation. Work as a liaison between users and CH-IT Department to address various system issues and user requirements, and participate in system enhancements to meet ACES departments’ needs.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- General Responsibilities:

- Good understanding of ACES operations processes and procedures
- Perform routine daily inspections and quality tests on projects/tasks available on the ACES LIMS system, identify process violations, and report corrective measures
- Perform a cross-check on the machine integration process to ensure that data retrieval is gathered from machine to LIMS solution without human intervention
- Validate whether the appropriate testing standards are used and presented in all ACES reports with system testing activities
- Audits if users are performing any activity outside ACES LIMS and report these actions with corrective measures
- Follow up on open issues and ensure that they are correctly handled and closed
- Report any observation or system usage deviations immediately to the QA/IT and CH IT team
- Ensure that all data, processes, and functionalities are available for all departments which are required to use the ACES LIMS system, and report any nonconformity to CH IT/QA
- Having a good knowledge of laboratory risks and how to handle any issues
- Documenting quality assurance activities and creating audit reports
- Participate in updating ACES LIMS user manuals and communicate these updates to system users
- Participate in generating any operational reports using the ACES LIMS system
- User mentoring and training
- Provide know-how guidance on how to use the system
- Conduct user training to correct the wrong usage
- Communications
- Work as an intermediate layer between departments that use ACES LIMS to understand and report any obstacles
- Acts as liaison between the users and the CH-IT department to address various system issues and user requirements.
- **Improvements and enhancements**:

- Recommend functionalities/procedures that meet future business needs
- Propose enhancements and improvements to the current processes

**Skills, Knowledge, and Ability**
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, information technology, or any related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in Engineering, Information technology with Quality Management skills
- Troubleshooting

- Good communication skills
