Key Responsibilities:

- The Medical Advisor acts with an uncompromising commitment to patients and supports the flawless execution of TA country medical plan projects and is committed to Provide fair and balanced medical information and education to health care professionals, Patients groups and payers that support the safe and effective use of Vertex’ medicines as per indication.
- Has a very strong knowledge of Haematology in Saudi Arabia.
- Respond to Requests for information on clinical data and act as primary resources on Vertex product data.
- Build trust through open and transparent collaboration with health care professionals, patient associations, and payers.
- Demonstrate consistent ethical and professional behavior, with uncompromising commitment to patients.
- Know the local health care system and keep up-dated on changes in environment in the country, including rules and regulations.
- Build reputation and visibility of Vertex at the country level by the provision of high-quality medical information and education both internally and externally.
- Actively and collaboratively participate in actions and projects of the International and Regional Medical Affairs team, as appropriate.
- Leverage local medical insights to best adapt the medical strategy.
- Serve as a liaison between key corporate functional areas and healthcare providers who express interest in conducting investigator-initiated research, to facilitate review and consideration of research proposals.
- Pro-active and cross-functional collaboration in the assigned TA(s) with the country team
- Lead Medical Education initiatives in close alignment with Medical colleagues in the field.
- Develop, attend, and present at appropriate meetings (advisory board meetings, Scientific meetings, etc.)
- Lead TA Medical support of Regulatory Affairs (Product Information / SmPCs, translation and artwork reviews.
- Contribute to the local TSO Team and in addition provide country insights to IHQ Brand team as required, representing the TA (scientific and medical expertise) and ensuring all activities address patient well-being and respect data integrity.
- Support the development of reimbursement dossiers, written statements, preparation/presence at oral hearings processes, as needed and appropriate.
- Support development & execution of the Country Medical plan(s).
- Provide country insights to the IHQ Brand team to assist IHQ in it developing strategy and management of local distribution arrangements in country (including the development of promotional tools and initiatives in compliance with Vertex policies and local regulatory requirements).
- Perform Medical Reviews (e.g. material to be released, in cooperation with project owners and other functions such as Legal/Compliance, Regulatory) advising to uphold scientific compliance.
- Provide medical-science training/updates to colleagues within the TSO team and where required to IHQ colleagues.

Key Requirements:

- Medical doctor, or PharmD / PhD with appropriate experience in Medical Affairs
- Very good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
- Medical Affairs experience
- Haematology experience
- Skilled in working in matrix teams
- Proven experience in designing, planning, and executing medical education and communication activities
- Good understanding of study designs, statistical methodology and interpretation of scientific data
- Experience in writing or reviewing scientific communications
- Cognizant of local regulation ruling promotion and interactions with stakeholders
- Knowledge of key Marketing and Market Research terms and modes of analysis
- Excellent communication skills
- Very good English language level
