Supervises and oversees the activities of the Dental Laboratory Section. Designs and fabricates prosthodontics devises as required by the staff Dentists.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Performs direct supervision of Dental Laboratory Technologist and ancillary personnel including scheduling, direction of daily activities, and ensuring adherence to Hospital standards and policies in conjunction with the Chairman, Department of Dentistry.

2. Establishes standards for the designed fabrication of prosthodontics appliances, and conducts quality assurance reviews.

3. Evaluates laboratory employee performance, counsel’s employees when required, and recommends disciplinary action as warranted. Coordinates Technologist’s leave schedule.

4. Receives and signs off all Dental Laboratory purchases and ensures that all equipment are properly tagged and tested prior to use. Oversees proper maintenance of equipment and work areas.

5. Maintains liaison with the Dental Assistants and ancillary staff on matters related to work requests and time schedule for lab services.

6. Attends Dental Staff meetings, Dental Assistants and ancillary staff meetings when required. Attends other Hospital staff meetings when requested by the Chairman of Dentistry Department. Informs Dental Laboratory personnel of any additions or changes in the Hospital or Clinic policy.

7. Consults with staff Dentists regarding design, set-up fittings and quality of prosthodontics devices. May train Dental Laboratory employees in areas other than their specialization. Monitors the quality of prosthodontics devices produced by the Dental Laboratory services.

8. Dedicates 80% of time to participate in clinical/technical duties.

9. Participates in Self & Hospital’s quality improvement plan preferred.

10. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.

11. Participates in self and other’s education, training and development, as applicable.

**Education**:
Master’s,or Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma In Dental Technology or related discipline is required.

**Experience Required**:
**Grade 10**:
Four (4) years with Master’s, or six (6) years of related experience in Prosthodontics and Ceramics with Bachelor’s Degree, or eight (8) years with Associate Degree/Diploma; including two (2)years in a supervisory or senior position is required.

**Grade 11**:

- Four (4) years as a Supervisor, Dental Laboratory at KFSH&RC. Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years. -One-hundred (100) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME] is required.

**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:

- Current Registration from (SCHS) is required. and Certification by the National Board for certification (US or Canada) in lieu of: Dentures, partials, Crown and Bridge, ceramics and Orthodontics.
- Knowledge about new advancement in CAD technologies and high tech equipment.
