**Job Summary**

Responsible for assisting the Dir. of Engineering in maintaining the physical plant and building for capital and operational planning and budgeting for up-to-date knowledge of innovations in both the technical and property management fields. Included the maintenance of physical plant is the installation, operation and repair of the mechanical systems, electronic and audio-visual equipment, furniture, fixtures and other equipment in and on property and duties for the Dir. of Engineering during his absence.

Provide guidance and direction to subordinates. Provide information to managers, peers, subordinates and other departments. Functions as a technical department resource and provides training to incumbents and new hires.

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities
- Experience: 2 years in Supervisor position
- Skills and Knowledge: Good background knowledge of Hotel operations.
- Education or Certification; Degree or Certificate in an Engineering discipline.

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**A. PLANNING AND BUDGETING**:

- Interviews, appraises, hires, disciplines and terminates associates, monitors the work of associates through personnel observation. Distributes work equally as a means of maintaining moral and discipline.
- Conducts orientation and training programs for all new and current department associates.
- Trains staff in safety and emergency procedures.
- Ensure daily reading are taken and prepare monthly energy report.
- Any other duties required.

**B. POLICES AND PROCEDURES**:

- Provides direction in regard to change in policies and procedures such as changes affect the short
- and long-range operations of the department.
- Responsible to keep informed by industry innovation and advances in product research, maintenance and engineering technology so that opportunities for capitalism on such developments are recognized.
- Implements and supervises an ongoing preventive maintenance (PM) programs on guestrooms, public areas and operating equipment.

**C. OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY**:

- Maintain standards and procedures for equipment’s repairs and maintenance and institutes new procedures to increase efficiency of labor and product use with the approval of Chief Engineer / Director of engineering.
- Reports any unusual incidents, guest complaints, suggestions and other special topics to the Chief Engineer / Director of Engineering as required.
- Requisition supplies as required via the engineer store-man verifies orders when received and follows up on orders not delivered on time because or delay or backorder.
- Monitors Maintenance Request System.
- Supervises the testing of new products for department with the approval of the Chief Engineer / Director of Engineering.
- Supervises and directs the daily activities of all Engineering Supervisor and subordinates and is responsible for the efficient and smooth operation of the property operations and maintenance department.
- Observes all department associates and activities to ensure adherence to the policies and established standard operating procedures of the Hotel.
- Makes period checks of completed repair and maintenance work to ensure that established standards have been met.
- Handle grievances suggestions and complaints by associates and recommends appropriate action to Chief Engineer / Director of Engineering.
- Attends MCM & operational meetings.
- Communicates with the Chief Engineer / Director of Engineering regarding the physical condition of Hotel as well as other information as required.
- Notifies the Chief Engineer / Director of Engineering of the need for re-decoration and replacement of the furniture, fixture and requirements throughout the Hotel.
