Job Description and Requirements
- Job Summary:
- In coordination with the Department Manager lead employees under direct supervision and oversee the overall activities of the surveying Department including review and approval of surveying drawings and reports, project acquisition, client maintenance and technical support, technical supervision of operators, review and confirm outputs, and deliverables, check and confirm client requirements, prepare the technical and financial proposals. Providing leadership and guidance to staff, and establishing and monitoring standards of excellence in performance. Ensure full coordination and transparency in all activities, as well as staff training and development.- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managerial Duties:
- Supports the Department Manager in the establishment and implementation of Department policies, goals, quality objectives, and procedures.
- Supports the Department Manager in the development of departmental business plans, new operation plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans that are in line with ACES strategies and objectives.
- Monitor costs and resources in day to day activities.
- Identify and take advantage of opportunities and expands business by creating innovative services or markets.
- Build confidence among employees and creates positive feelings and culture of belongings.
- Create and develop change management strategies.
- Inspire, influence and guide others to participate in a common effort.
- Delegate and empower subordinates.
- Supports the Department Manager in department staffing and budgeting projections.
- In coordination with Department Manager conducts Employee Appraisal reviews for the staff under his/her supervision to evaluate individual performance, set individual performance objectives in alignment with department level objectives, review qualifications, identify training needs and obtain employee feedback.
- Technical Duties:
- Assist the department manager in reviewing surveying contract.
- Planning survey works and resources needed.
- Support survey operations
- calculations, processing, data manipulation
- Prepare technical and financial proposals.
- Finalizing the proposals as per company system and submittal to client.
- Following up the progress of the office works.
- Processing advanced survey data.
- Managing the project on company system.
- Managing all the survey requirements on the project.
- Manage and supervise technical field operations and technical procedures, related to surveying department activities.
- Respond to customers inquiries and provides professional advices in surveying issues.
- Review and approve surveying drawings, reports and deliverables.
- Support preparing and deploying preventive maintenance programs for survey equipment and vehicles.
- Investigate existing and potential non-conformities in surveying activities and devising and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Liaising with clients and satisfy their needs.
- Maintain highest quality assurance standards through the project.
- Provide guidance for all subordinates on technical matters and conduct troubleshooting to resolve all technical problems.
- Researching the new technologies and advancements I software and hardware.
- Development of new / more practical solutions for the common problems.
- Conduct Proposal follow-up and market assessment.
- Following up the department invoices and help in the collection.
- Prepare daily Survey work program, and issue work orders to Surveyors in accordance with project specifications and contractual agreements.
- Ensure all customers’ requirements are carried out in accordance with contract specification, international and approved in house policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports in conformance with related standard test methods and customer requirements.
- Indicating and requesting the necessary hardware and software needed to carry out the projects and keep up with the market.
- Implementing new survey-related technologies as they become available and needed.
- Determine the methods and technologies to be used as per project assessment.
- Any duties or responsibilities assigned by the management.- Reporting To:
- This position will directly report to the Regional Surveying Business Line Manager.- Job Requirements:
- Education & Experience:
- Master or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or any related field, Master is preferable.
- Min 8 years of experience in the field of Surveying.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Engineering Measurements.
- Engineering Applications of GIS.
- Fundamentals of Theodolite.
- Total Station Survey System (TSSS) Survey Specifications.
- Application of Geometric Principles.
- Survey standards and methods.
- Market knowledge
- Advanced software skills
- Recent Survey Softwares (Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Point Cloud Processing, etc )
- A good understanding and demonstrative experience of modern survey instrume
