Mustadem is an Agri-Tech company specializing in RAS Farming and hydroponics, aquaponics: an innovative and ecological food production system. We are developing farms that produce fresh, healthy, and local food - vegetables, fruit, and fish - year-round, regardless of weather conditions to help support communities’ food self-sufficiency.

Mustadem is expanding and needs to fill several critical positions within its technical and research and development team.

Job description

The aquaculture engineer is in a crucial position in developing our farms. In collaboration with the other team members, he or she produces the necessary documentation. He or she actively participates in the activities, from the design to the operation of the ÉAU farms, thanks to his significant expertise in recirculating aquaculture and fish farming. The aquaculture engineer is also required to (i) participate in R&D projects in our laboratory, (ii) communicate with aquaculture equipment suppliers, and (iii) participate actively in the implementation of aquaculture projects and operation on the farms.

A Day at Mustadem
- Participate in the development of our design tools
- Establish fish production, feeding, and harvesting cycles
- Produce hydraulic diagrams of aquaculture systems
- Targeting the best RAS technologies
- Design the aquaculture section and choose to position the equipment
- Participate in the design of mineralization systems
- Produce maintenance plans and biosecurity strategies
- Write fish health intervention and management plans
- Draw outlines of aquaculture systems
- Work closely with the rest of the technical team
- Participate in R&D projects in the laboratory
- Ingenious, creative, rigorous, and dynamic
- Relevant training related to aquaculture and engineering or another related field.
- Training and experience in recirculating aquaculture
- Knowledge of aquaculture equipment in recirculation
- Experience with salmonids is an asset
- Ability to manipulate spreadsheets
- Ability to communicate in both English and Arabic
- AutoDesk computer graphics skills (AutoCAD and Revit) or SketchUp an asset
