**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The Information Technology Director is responsible for providing vision, leadership and advocacy for the planning,
development and use of information technology in support of KAPSARC's mission, vision and goals.

**EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems
- Graduate degree, especially an MBA with IT as a core component is preferred
- Extensive professional experience spent building and managing IT environments
- Excellent command of the Arabic language (spoken/written)
- Excellent command of the English language (spoken/written)

**JUSTIFICATION**:

- Develop and maintain the IT processes, policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, high availability, and cost effectiveness of IT services
- Lead the implementation of the digital transformation project and major technology refresh projects
- Act as the main consul for all IT personnel, and provide guidance and leadership direction to direct reports
- Lead and monitor preparations of regular achievement reports and progress against targets and budgets
- Direct the IT function’s strategic direction, development, and future growth in alignment with KAPSARC objectives and goals
- Facilitate and promote effective communication with all levels of staff, customers/organizations, and suppliers
- Oversee IT infrastructure and operations encompassing technology acquisition, deployment, maintenance and support, networking, voice, data, imaging and office automation
- Develop and manage a budget for capital and operating expenses and ensure the effective and appropriate expenditure of the Center's funding resources
- Oversee development and implementation of technology policies and procedures such as usage, system security and back up
- Ensure the implementation of appropriate end-user training and help desk support
- Promote a customer-oriented service attitude through clear recognition of user needs and ensure the efficient and effective operation of the IT organization through best-practice business processes and technologies
- Understand the emerging trends in information technology
- Act as the corporate champion for Information Technology strategies, policies, roles and processes, and investment baseline

- Have an understanding of how a business functions and how technology relates to the core competencies of the business
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to form collaborative partnerships across an organization with diverse constituencies, vendor negotiation skills, and understands the emerging trends in information technology
- Professional, tactful and diplomatic when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage change effectively
- Results oriented
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
