Maintenance Manager

1. Acts as Project Core Team member, assists for work related to the Refinery revamp project and contribute with other core team members to ensure that the project is completed based on the set objectives and project milestones.
2. Prepares Maintenance budget on time, and advice Refinery Manager on all issues regarding budget variances if any.
3. Establishes KPIs for refinery maintenance and continuously measure performance.
4. Plays an important role in planning and scheduling preventive/predictive maintenance, refinery shutdowns and turnaround to ensure optimal plant availability at the most economical cost.
5. Plans, directs and manages the day-to-day mechanical, electrical and instrumental activities to ensure that maintenance targets are achieved within budgeted cost and quality standards.
6. Ensures routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken.
7. Keeps an eye on cooling and fire water system, chemicals treatment in coordination with operations to restrict internal erosion, fouling and scaling.
8. Identifies spare part requirements and their diligent usage in the Refinery.
9. Manages the process of introducing new plant machinery and equipment from drawing up the specification to managing suppliers for full installation in collaboration with all relevant parties.
10. Manages the process of disposal of obsolete plant machinery and equipment from write off decision to physical removal, safe and lawful disposal.
11. Coordinates, and monitors maintenance work that is assigned to contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
12. Maintains a high safety level in plant equipment and personnel through properly established and implemented procedures to ensure meeting safety and environmental targets.
13. Identifies Maintenance personnel professional skills, conducts the necessary on job training, appraises their performance on continuous basis and motivate them to maximize their individual contribution to improve operational efficiency.
14. Liaises and follows up with other departmental functions such as Operations, Warehouse, and Procurement.
15. Establishes and implements proper information and reporting system to ensure proper records are maintained and used for analytical purposes.
Required Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
1. Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Maintenance management, of refinery/ petrochemical plants with preferable 2 years’ experience in Project Management and maintenance of a medium size aromatic and aliphatic solvents refinery.
3. Knowledge of rotating and stationary equipment, distribution of low and high voltage electrical systems, distributed control systems, repair and maintenance work.
4. Knowledge of machines, tools, spare parts including their uses.
5. Knowledge of inspection procedures due to international standards.
6. Managerial competencies including leadership, team spirit, developing others and influencing power.
7. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and adequate knowledge of Microsoft Project.
8. Should bear a sound personality with good influencing power and leadership competencies.
9. Team player and effective communicator.
10. Should have a good command in English language with good level of computer literacy
