As a Professional Architect with a Roofing Specialty, your role is to provide expertise in architectural design and construction related to roofing systems. You will collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to design, plan, and oversee roofing projects. Your responsibilities will include roofing system design, material selection, quality control, and technical guidance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Roofing System Design: Design and develop roofing systems that meet project requirements, building codes, and industry standards. Consider factors such as climate, building type, functionality, and aesthetics in the design process. Ensure that roofing systems integrate seamlessly with the overall architectural design.
- Material Selection: Select appropriate roofing materials based on project requirements, performance criteria, durability, and budget. Evaluate roofing materials, such as shingles, tiles, metal panels, membranes, and green roofing systems, for their suitability and compatibility with the project.
- Technical Specifications: Prepare detailed technical specifications for roofing systems, including materials, installation methods, and quality standards. Ensure that specifications comply with building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Cost Estimation: Collaborate with cost estimators to determine the budget and cost estimates for roofing projects. Provide input on material costs, labor requirements, and other related expenses.
- Construction Oversight: Provide technical support during the construction phase of roofing projects. Review construction plans, shop drawings, and submittals related to roofing systems. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with design documents, and address any technical issues.
- Quality Control: Ensure the quality and integrity of roofing installations. Conduct inspections and tests to verify that roofing systems meet the specified standards and requirements. Address any deficiencies or non-compliance with the project team and recommend corrective actions.
- Code Compliance: Ensure that roofing designs and installations comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Stay updated on changes in codes and regulations related to roofing systems and incorporate them into the design and construction processes.
- Sustainability and Energy Efficiency: Incorporate sustainable design principles into roofing systems, such as utilizing cool roofs, green roofs, and solar panels. Evaluate energy-efficient roofing technologies and recommend strategies to improve the energy performance of buildings.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate roofing systems seamlessly into overall architectural designs. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with project team members to convey design intent and address technical issues.
- Research and Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in roofing materials and technologies, and best practices in roof design and construction. Participate in professional development activities and attend seminars, workshops, and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Other tasks assigned by HgP.

**Requirements**:

- Preferred Secret Clearance but not required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Registered Architect (R.A) licensure is required. - Proven experience as an Architect with a focus on roofing design and construction.
- Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to roofing systems.
- Proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp.
- Familiarity with roofing materials, systems, and installation techniques.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in interdisciplinary teams and interact with clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient roofing technologies.
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of construction practices, materials, and methods related to roofing systems.
- Professionalism and adherence to ethical standards in architectural practice. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy cabling equipment and work in confined spaces
