Saudi Arabia is the largest economy in the Middle East and based off its vibrant economy, there are opportunities for New Zealand exporters in food and beverage, agritech, construction, education and healthcare, tourism, resources, aviation and creative.

**What you'll be doing: Te whakamahere**
- The Trade Commissioner role in Riyadh is an exciting leadership role, where you will be responsible for growing New Zealand exports and investments into the complex and evolving markets of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait. You'll be leading high performing team of experienced Business Development Managers whose networks and knowledge are vital to achieving great outcomes for New Zealand companies. You'll also work closely with a team of customer managers based in New Zealand and across the New Zealand Government agencies as part of the wider India, Middle East and Africa NZTE region.

In this role, you'll provide expert in-market connections and advice that will enable New Zealand exporters while also representing New Zealand at key business events, host dignitaries and play a key role in implementing NZTE's strategic priorities.

This is a role that needs a well organised and agile leader who can manage a variety of commitments and priorities. Experience in calm and thoughtful prioritisation and time management will be required to be successful in this role as it is varied and fast-paced. You'll be energetic, able to think on your feet and ready to adapt quickly and be comfortable with change when new opportunities pop up which can happen often in this market

**What you'll need to be successful: Ō Pūkenga**
- We are looking for a Trade Commissioner who is agile, has strong commercial acumen, has a passion for growing New Zealand businesses and understands what it takes to be successful in this region. In previous roles you will have been responsible for business development, marketing, sales or strategy and understand the fast-paced change of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia commercial environment and is excited about the opportunities it provides to Kiwi companies.

In this role you'll need to be comfortable with having strategic conversations with companies up to board level, where you will provide insights to ensure customer understanding of local complexity and be secure at operating in a multi-layered ecosystem. You'll have exceptional relationship and influencing skills and be a confident and credible communicator. You'll have people leadership strength gained from a variety of leadership roles, including having a strong foundation of knowledge in leadership allowing you to lead in a mature and positive manner creating stability and confidence for the team and your partnerships.

Additionally, you'll be well versed in leading talented and diverse teams across a variety of offices, cultures, and flexible working arrangements.
