If yes, then you may be the one we are looking for as Rare Disease Regional Medical Advisor for Novo Nordisk Saudi Arabia.

This position will be based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and reports directly to the Medical Manager.

**The Position**

As a Rare Disease Regional Medical Advisor, you will be responsible to provide regional medical and scientific support for doctors, other healthcare professionals, and colleagues in support of business opportunities and strategic objectives taking into account short-, medium-, and long-term local business needs in Rare Disease Therapy area

To establish leadership in the Rare Disease area and access to Novo Nordisk (NN) products in Saudi Arabia through providing quality medical and scientific support to clinicians (mainly influencers), and other healthcare professionals (HCPs - nurses, pharmacists, etc.).

The main outcome of the job is to ensure KOLs and specialists are aware of and understand the scientific basis for and clinical usefulness of our compounds within Rare Diseases.

Key Accountabilities:

- Providing quality medical and scientific support, education and training across business area functions to external customers, healthcare professionals, local opinion makers, and Novo Nordisk staff (where appropriate).
- Optimizing opportunities for relevant academic /professional collaboration in the interests of the current and future business needs and developing project proposals in support of a business case for local funding and initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining relations with customers and targeting local opinion leaders/makers and major institutions in the local healthcare sector, building local credibility personally and on behalf of Novo Nordisk.
- Contributing to medico-marketing strategy and providing support for local business plans to promote the achievement of targets, and alignment of cross-functional business activities while ensuring compliance with country-specific regulatory requirements and relevant legislation.

**Qualifications**

We require you to have 1-2 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry in the medical affairs department. It’s expected to hold a Bachelor’s degree of Pharmaceutical Sciences or bachelor’s degree of Medicine. You have excellent command over both written and spoken English and Arabic, and a willingness to travel inside Saudi Arabia.

To be effective in this role, it is mandatory to have:

- Computer skills required (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Windows).
- Experience in dealing with stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, including presentation, persuasion, and influence.
- Experience in Rare Diseases is preferable.

**About the Department**

Rare Disease Business unit at Novo Nordisk is a fast growing, highly dynamic business unit with 3 new product launch in Saudi Arabia in the previous 2 years and more 2-3 launches expected in the next 2 years.

Rare Disease business unit is working in Rare Bleeding Disorders, Rare Blood Disorders and Rare Endocrine Disorders with more therapy area expansion expected in the next 5 years.

You will gain the experience of working with different-rare specialties where the scientific breakthroughs are in high need for the healthcare professionals to improve patients’ health and quality of life.
