WSP is currently searching for an accomplished and experienced professional to join our team as Technical Director in the building structures design team. As a Technical Director, you will be providing technical leadership and oversight to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
**Your new role, what's involved?**
- Provide technical expertise and oversight throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to required technical standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop client proposals, including bid planning, costing, and producing technical proposals.
- Manage project profitability and financial contribution, ensuring projects meet financial targets and deliver value to the company.
- Be accountable for the overall success of allocated projects, including managing timeliness, contract negotiation, project management, quality control, financial performance, risk management, communication, and scope management.
- Actively contribute to the ongoing development of engineering excellence within the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ensure excellent technical standards are maintained in the design, documentation, and supervision of project work, with a focus on structural integrity and safety.
- Take responsibility for building and maintaining strong business relationships both internally and externally, fostering collaboration and trust.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, develop innovative solutions, and strive to enhance the quality and efficiency of our services.
- Lead and develop technical capability within the team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to foster professional growth and expertise.

**We'd love to hear from you if you have**:

- Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering field; Master's degree is preferred.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent certification, Professional Engineering (PE) license or Structural Engineering (SE) license is preferred.
- Minimum 20 years of experience in structural design and engineering.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong technical expertise in structural analysis, design, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members, foster a culture of excellence, and drive results.
