**Required Skills**:
A strong knowledge of plastics extrusion and injection molding processes and equipment.

Minimum five years of experience in a process optimization function, gained in a modern, lean manufacturing plastics environment.

Hands-on experience in plastic equipment and machine/tooling commissioning.

Proven background of driving continuous improvement within an ISO 9001 production environment.

Experience with preventative maintenance programs (TPM).

Project and trial coordination skills.

Ability to deliver Health and Safety improvement with-in a structured system like ISO45001

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English language.

**Job General Objectives**

Providing production & processing support to optimise production systems, improve production cycle times, maximise material usage efficiency, maximise machine utilisation, increase output and overall production capacity to meet production plans, whilst reducing generation of scrap levels and improving machine change over times. To assist material trials and machine commissioning and launches of new products, by building new processes and standard operating procedures to ensure efficient and good quality production.

Identifies process improvements and areas for reduction in waste and increased throughput

Improves and optimises product changeover using quick tool change techniques

Optimizes production output conditions by establishing Mandatory Processing Parameters and optimizes such while also maintaining required quality standards.

Verifies systems performance by testing functionality of installed equipment, reviewing tooling designs and ensuring optimum tooling availability.

Ensures tooling is to standard and addresses design and wear issues to optimise tooling performance and usage lifetime.

Performing line readings and equipment walk downs to ensure parameters are maintained, quality issues are identified and solutions are implemented.

Performing visual inspection of finished products to identify conditional or mechanical issues with the equipment. If issues identified, notify the appropriate resource and follow up action or make appropriate adjustments to ensure correction is made.

Participates in tooling and material trials to ensure optimum performance and robust trail controls and procedures.

Coordinates and participates in cross-functional expansion projects, equipment commissioning programs, trials and signs off production-ready projects.

Describes system, components, and parts operating characteristics and malfunctions by writing technical reports

Analyses and optimises work order completion in terms of time, cost and delivery and completes documentation & reports as required.

Verifies that basic maintenance duties on extrusion machines and ancillary equipment as specified within the planned maintenance guidelines are completed.

Re-enforces consistent and accurate data recording and logging of changes in process
- and production parameters.

Analyses extrusion machine generated data to improve machine and quality performance.

Ensures high level of process and materials inventory control to minimise material losses.

Displays a methodical approach to problems solving and root cause analysis to identify process, machine or work area improvements that optimize productivity.

Maintains a clean, safe and organized work environment. Supports maintenance of equipment/calibration.

Conducts operations to ISO9001 and ISO45001 and assists with updating procedures and work instructions to reflect production and process status.

Works with the Quality department to investigate quality concerns and develops, implements and monitors corrective solutions.

Communicate positional and line performance issues to the production manager.

Technical Degree in a scientific discipline required.
