Apigee Administrator

We are seeking a talented and motivated Apigee Edge Private Cloud Administrator to join our team. The ideal

**Responsibilities**:

- Administer, support, and perform all administrative tasks in the Apigee OPDK/Edge Private Cloud infrastructure, including software upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
- Install, configure, and upgrade Apigee components in a distributed environment, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Configure Apigee OPDK with SSO, OAuth, and LDAP integration.
- Design, build, and maintain Apigee infrastructure/topology.
- Develop scripts to automate routine tasks, including system monitoring, backups, patch management, deployments, and orchestration scripting using configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.
- Optimize the Apigee Edge Private Cloud performance and lead capacity planning and sizing activities.
- Implement and manage the DR instance of Apigee, including required automation jobs to perform failover to the DR site in case of main site failure.
- Collaborate with development teams to aid in API deployment and troubleshoot production issues related to the Apigee platform.
- Create and manage global users, organizations, environments, and virtual hosts, and configure TLS/SSL on a virtual host.
- Work closely with support teams to resolve escalated issues in a timely manner, including working with Apigee support (3 level) for product-related issues/questions.
- Lead root cause analysis sessions to understand and prevent future production issues.
- Ensure the creation and continuous update of documentation for each Apigee installation site and provide full handover to the client's team, including comprehensive documentation and training sessions.

Security Reports

Detailed reports on the security posture of the organization, including vulnerability scans, incident reports, and recommended actions

**Education**

1) Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

**Experience**

1) At least 3 years of experience in Apigee Edge Private Cloud administration with a strong understanding of Apigee Edge Gateway, Analytics, DevPortal (Drupal), Monetization services, and their components.

**Technical Skills**:

- Strong understanding and practical experience with Apigee Edge OPDK/Private Cloud and its components, including API Gateway, Developer Services Portal, Analytics, and Monetization services.
- Fair knowledge in Linux system administration, as Apigee OPDK commonly runs on Linux distributions such as RHEL and CentOS.
- Good knowledge of networking concepts and protocols like HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Familiarity with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl can be beneficial for automation tasks.
- Knowledge and experience with API design and implementation standards, including REST and SOAP protocols, and data formats such as JSON and XML.
- Experience with monitoring tools, performance tuning, and analytics. Knowledge of the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) can be beneficial.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools, such as Jenkins. Understanding of DevOps practices and Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency with version control systems, such as Git.
- Experience in planning, designing, and implementing disaster recovery (DR) instances and maintaining high availability of services.
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues within the Apigee platform.
