Leadership & Management:

- Drive and and implementing country Medical field plans by active participation in CPO planning process (IPS and iLR) utilizing Regional and local insights to shape the MSL strategies in alignment with therapy areas
- Supporting the countryto enable scientific research and projects and to ensure support for investigator identification, site selection and data dissemination for global clinical studies, as applicable.
- Provide ongoing assessment of the MSLs’ competencies and skills, effectiveness and progress toward goal objectives.
- Coaching of MSLs in the field for high value scientific field visits aligned with the overall strategy and medical plans to support local insight gathering and develop patient-centric strategies and services.
- Ensure implementation of filed medical excellence processes and guidelines within the team.
- Resource Allocation:

- Execution of strategy:

- Collaborate with the Therapy areas medica leads and medical partners s to develop the annual medical objectives/priorities for different TAs.
- Ensuring local implementation of field Medical training curriculums and Responsibility for coordinating local MSL onboarding.
- Ensuring individual development plans and career paths are in place for all MSLs
- Represent Scientific Operations in the cross functional projects.
- Identify and execute opportunities for productivity and/or efficiency improvement with other medical functions.
- Implement and ensure execution of Scientific Operations strategic and tactical plans.
- Coordinate the collection and reporting of consolidated Medical Experts (MEs) insights that may impact Novartis development plans, trial designs, launch strategies and tactics, and medical education programs tailored to physician needs.

Global/regional Medical Affairs Alignment:
- Promote good communication and teamwork between the local and global Medical excellence (ME) team.

Scientific Support:
- Build strong network with MEs nationally, gaining insights on Novartis medical department position among all MNCs.

Provide support to execute the annual scientific communication plans

**Minimum requirements**
- Education:

- MD, pharmacist, PHD and other life sciences with solid medical/technical background and proven competencies, business and market knowledge.
- Experience- Demonstrated capabilities for a field based medical role and proven competency at the MSL level.
- Proven ability to lead and coach scientific/medical personnel at all skill and knowledge levels.
- Proven ability to implement a medical strategy.
- Strong knowledge of the market preparation and access requirements, encompassing medical strategies and market trends.
- Proven ability to interpret and communicate medical/scientific strategies to direct reports.
- Thorough understanding of internal/external ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong leadership mindset and demonstrated customer focus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong personal integrity, teamwork abilities, and a customer focus are necessary.
- Must be able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment and to motivate a team to do the same.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional environment.
- People management, development and coaching skills.
- Energetic and decisive.
- Ability to work under pressure
