Jacobs is supporting a Government organisation to help modernize and develop its communications network and part of this strategy is the implementation of a Nationwide Fibre Network. This includes the supply, installation and design of fibre optic projects at multiple locations (Central, East and West) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for the creation and implementation of end-to-end solution/technical design and ensure the solution/design process is adhered to during all phases of project delivery.
The Solutions Architect will also provide solution and technical SME input to appropriate levels, identify communicate and manage Information Assurance risks and identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.

The post-holder will also hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. They will have proven experience in engineering and software architecture design. Previous project management experience will also be advantageous.

Key responsibilities & experience:

- Building and integrating information systems to meet the organisation’s needs
- Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it
- Resolving technical problems as they arise
- Providing supervision and guidance to development teams
- Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed
- Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented
- Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have
- Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets
- Technical design
- Information assurance
- Identify and implement improvements
