Assists adult and children from abuse and maltreatment. preventing harm to children's health or development. Ensures children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care.to ensure the welfare and well-being of abuse patients and their families.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Provides counselling to patients and their families and advocate for maltreated individuals and families who need help obtaining benefits or other types of social services.

2. Responds / Attends to cases of adult/child abuse and neglect presented to ER, inpatient and outpatient.
- 3. Assists in the investigate of allegations of abuse or neglect, providing assessments to determine whether a parent or guardian is fit to provide care and support medical team.
- 4. Helps in evaluating abuse patient’s safety as whether the patient should be temporarily or permanently removed from his/her living situation and placing them in an appropriate institution- 5. Completes extensive documentation, maintain case files and perform other types of administrative tasks.- 6. Helps parents/families meet the needs of their children by connecting them with resources and helping them navigate programs, therapy and advising; and assist in arranging for short
- and long-term care of whose families cannot take care of them.- 7. Empowers children, mothers, fathers, families, individuals, groups and communities to access resources, choices and opportunities and to participate in the development of relevant policies and programs
- 8. Undertakes advocacy, conflict resolution, problem solving, planning, meeting facilitation and crisis intervention as required to promote the wellbeing and safety of children.
9. Abides by the current hospital and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulations and policies and keeps updated of any changes that might occur.
- 11. Serves on Hospital’s committee as required.

**Education**:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other related disciplines is required.

**Experience Required**:
Grade 08:Two (2) years of related experience with bachelor's degree is required.

Grade 09: Four (4) years as Child and Family Protection Social Worker at KFSH&RC or (Grade 08) related experience is required.? Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years. ? Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education CME.

**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:

- Observational experiences and supervised field practice leading to a specialization in social work with children and adult.
- Working with victim of violence and expert in trauma therapy
