**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships.

The purpose of this role is to contribute to all aspects of the Procurement activities of the line of business to facilitate the maximisation of business success in line with agreed targets and to ensure all legally binding Company commitments are agreed in accordance with SMSCMC policies and procedures.

The successful individual will be working for a company at the forefront of BAE Systems’ commitment to industrialise the supply chain in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Draft, negotiate and agree complex, strategic and high-risk Contracts and business arrangements between SMSCMC and its suppliers to maximise the advantage to the business
- Develop, maintain and manage key relationships with strategic existing and potential Suppliers to ensure the effective management of business agreements throughout their lifecycle and play a leading role in the swift and effective resolution of major issues.
- Establish overall pricing policies to ensure a sound commercial basis is maintained in line with overall policies.
- Support the Commercial team in the RBA process ensuring all developing business opportunities and bids meet agreed commercial criteria, including profitability and risk minimisation..
- Provide consultancy and guidance to senior management on Procurement, contractual and legal issues to facilitate effective business decision-making and the swift resolution of issues and disputes, including customer complaints.
- Negotiate, agree and manage complex and strategic sub-contract arrangements to minimise risk and maximise the advantage to the business.
- Develop, maintain and oversee the operation of strategies and policies for managing commercial risk, identifying risks in relation to strategic Contracts/business arrangements and proposing responses in line with policies in order to maximise business return.
- Keep up to date with and research new Procurement developments and assess their advantage to the company.
- Prepare non-disclosure agreements to protect the commercial interests of the business.
- Ensure senior management is kept fully informed of business developments.
- Lead, develop and motivate reporting staff, ensuring they are fully aware of and capable of meeting their accountabilities.

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**

**Essential**
- Relevant Degree or substantial Commercial & Procurement experience
- A proven track record of leading Procurement teams in pursuit of agreed targets
- Demonstrable negotiating skills
- Skilled in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with external vendors to conclusion.
- Track record of contributing to the management of contractual issues
- Wide ranging experience of dealing with suppliers both in the UK and overseas

**Desirable**
- Extensive knowledge of commercial policies used by SMSCMC’s parent company BAE Systems.

KSA experience is desirable but not essential (The Saudi Maintenance and Supply Chain Chains Management Company holds the Mowaamah Gold Certificate as a work environment that empowers and motivates people with disabilities.
