- Functions as the Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Technician under the direction of the Standardization and Training Instructor Pilot. Performs technical inspections, tests, maintains, requisitions, issues, and repairs of aviation life support equipment and survival equipment, including flotation equipment, over water gear, anti-exposure suites, first aid kits, survival vests and kits, radios, aircrew body armor, restraint harnesses, flight helmets, chemical and biological protective masks, oxygen masks, and other related ALSE equipment. Train Customer and contractor personnel in the use of all applicable technical publications, tools, test equipment, and special equipment applicable to this discipline, thereby enabling them to become effective Aviation Life Support Equipment Specialists.**Major Duties and Responsibilities**- Duties/Responsibilities:
- The ALSE Technician shall perform all above ALSE functions to include periodic inspections of all equipment at the required intervals specified by US Army Aviation guidelines.
- The technician shall train Customer and contractor Aviation selected personnel on all above ALSE functions in accordance with US Aviation regulations and procedures.
- Secondary Crew Chief duties: The ALSE Technician will also perform secondary flight crew chief duties as needed to include: Be prepared to accompany crew during mission flight and or maintenance test flights, prepare aircraft maintenance forms and records, train Customer personnel as required in the use of all applicable technical publications, tools, test equipment, and special equipment applicable to the discipline of aircraft maintenance, enabling them to become effective MD500 Series aircraft mechanics and crew chiefs. Ensure that all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned and or directed by management.

B. Independence: Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Retain the authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities

C. Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

**Minimum Qualifications**- Education Level: High school diploma required. Military: Graduate of the US Aviation Life Support Equipment Course required. Successfully completion of the Aviation Crew Chief Maintenance Course required Successfully completed, and be qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government armed forces Aviation Life Support Equipment maintenance course or civilian equivalent training. Contractor factory training or other equivalent training by industry shall be reviewed and approved by the PCO and/or the GFR as substitute.
Experience: Five years’ prior experience serving as an Aviation Life Support Equipment Specialist. Prior experience working on Rotary Wing Aviation unique Aviation Life Support Equipment and experience working with Desert and over-water ALSE gear preferred.C. Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements: Demonstrated knowledge and experience of rotary wing Aviation operations inclusive of basic maintenance, and aviation logistics training. Certificates: Aviation Life Support Equipment Course certification. Be proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation. Demonstrated past performance in the development of organizational plans, policies, and operational procedures. Ability to communicate both orally and written. Ability to effectively deal with people in the supervision of staff and team members. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Possess a valid driver’s license.
