Job Description: As a CAT and Mercedes Trucks Mechanic, your primary responsibility will be to diagnose, repair, and maintain CAT and Mercedes trucks and their respective systems. You will work with a range of heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and construction equipment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of these vehicles.

**Responsibilities**:
Vehicle Diagnosis and Repair: Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical, electrical, and technical issues in CAT and Mercedes trucks.
Conduct inspections and use specialized tools to troubleshoot problems and determine the appropriate repairs.
Repair or replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
Ensure all repairs adhere to manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper functioning and identify any remaining issues.

Preventive Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and adhere to maintenance schedules provided by the manufacturer.
Identify potential problems and proactively address them to avoid costly repairs and vehicle downtime.
Keep accurate maintenance records and document all services performed.

Parts and Inventory Management:Identify and procure the necessary parts and components for repairs and maintenance.
Maintain an inventory of spare parts and consumables, ensuring an adequate supply to support repairs and maintenance activities.
Collaborate with the procurement team to source and purchase parts from authorized suppliers.
Document parts usage and ensure proper stock management to minimize delays in repairs.

Safety and Compliance:Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Follow all applicable regulations and standards related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
Ensure that vehicles meet regulatory requirements, such as emissions standards and safety inspections.

Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities performed on CAT and Mercedes trucks.
Generate reports on vehicle condition, repair history, and maintenance schedules.
Provide clear and detailed explanations of repair work performed to customers or supervisors.

Continuous Learning:Stay updated on the latest technologies, tools, and techniques in the field of CAT and Mercedes truck maintenance and repair.
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Share your expertise with colleagues and assist in their professional development when necessary.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical or vocational training program in automotive or heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.
- Proven experience as a mechanic specializing in CAT and Mercedes trucks.
- In-depth knowledge of CAT and Mercedes truck systems, components, and diagnostics.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, equipment, and computer-based systems for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting heavy parts and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and customers.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
