Responsibilities:
- Threat Detection and Incident Response:
- Monitor security alerts and incidents from SIEM systems, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Analyze security incidents to assess their scope and impact, coordinating appropriate response efforts.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure prompt remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures to protect organizational assets.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery from security incidents.
- Prepare and maintain incident response plans, conducting tabletop exercises to test their effectiveness.
- Stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities relevant to the organization.
- Utilize threat intelligence to proactively enhance the security posture.
- Develop and deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for security-related inquiries within the organization.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve the overall security posture.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance status.
- Evaluate, implement, and manage security tools and technologies.
- Optimize the use of security tools and provide recommendations for enhancements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of security processes, incidents, and remediation efforts.
- Ensure that all security activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Participate in security assessments and audits to identify areas for enhancement.
- Stay current with the latest security trends and technologies
Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cybersecurity, particularly in a defense or incident response role.
- Experience with threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Proficiency in security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection).
- Knowledge of networking protocols and security principles.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+) are preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing and mitigating security threats.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and training purposes.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
