Job Description

Asterix Communications is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead our infrastructure development initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for large-scale projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. They will be responsible for planning and defining program goals, developing in-depth knowledge of client requirements, and devising methods to accomplish them.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Leadership: Lead, plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of assigned programs, projects, or subtasks.
  2. Client Representation: Act as the company representative with clients and selected suppliers during program execution.
  3. Scope Negotiation: Negotiate changes to the scope of work with clients.
  4. Infrastructure Design: Lead infrastructure design development, overall management of infrastructure design services provided by others, and manage a group of technical specialists.
  5. Project Management: Develop the scope of engineering work, reports, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements, and monitor progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent from a recognized university is essential.
  2. Certifications: Chartered Engineer status, PMP/ChPP certification or equivalent is preferred.
  3. Experience: Minimum 20 years of experience in significant large-scale projects, in leadership roles, with prior experience working on major civil infrastructure, roads, tunnels, utilities projects.
Desirable Skills
  1. Communication: Effective oral and written skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and internal/external correspondence.
  2. Presentation: Ability to effectively present information to key stakeholders as required by the client.
  3. Construction Management: Understanding of the construction management at risk alternative delivery process and the functions inherent to construction management of large-scaled projects.
  4. Budgeting: Understanding of budget development and cost accounting.
  5. Team Management: Ability to manage and encourage a team of construction management professionals.
