About the Role

Careem is seeking a seasoned Director of Public Policy to drive the company's corporate affairs and public policy agenda in the Middle East. This is a senior role that requires a deep understanding of the region's regulatory landscape and the ability to build sustainable long-term frameworks for Careem's businesses, customers, and government partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute government, policy, and regulatory engagement strategies to advance Careem's interests in the region.
  • Engage with senior government officials and stakeholders to advocate for win-win regulatory outcomes that benefit both Careem and its government partners.
  • Lead the development of policy positions and advocacy materials, including white papers and economic analyses.
  • Manage a team of public policy professionals and provide guidance on policy development, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy.
  • Identify and execute on strategic partnerships with government and non-government entities to drive business growth and improve the lives of people in the region.
Requirements
  • 8-10 years of experience in a progressive government environment, a private company, or a top law firm or management consultancy with a focus on public policy, regulatory affairs, or corporate affairs.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful public policy and regulatory strategies in the Middle East.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to develop compelling policy positions and advocacy materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with government officials, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Fluency in Arabic is a plus.
