Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team at Saudi Thalate. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of our data protection frameworks, ensuring adherence to the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and related regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Maintain Data Protection Policies: Develop and maintain comprehensive data protection policies to ensure PDPL compliance, including data protection by design and default principles.
  2. Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments: Conduct thorough Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with data processing activities.
  3. Collaborate Across Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data protection is integrated into all systems and processes, including data protection by design.
  4. Monitor and Audit Data Processing Activities: Regularly monitor and audit data processing activities to ensure regulatory compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Lead Incident Response Activities: Lead incident response activities and manage data breach response plans to minimize the impact of data breaches.
  6. Provide Guidance and Training: Provide guidance and training to employees on PDPL compliance and best practices, ensuring a culture of data protection within the organization.
  7. Stay Updated on Data Protection Laws: Stay up-to-date on the latest data protection laws and regulations, including PDPL, GDPR, and CCPA, and adjust company policies as needed.
  8. Liaise with Regulatory Bodies: Liaise with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Law, or a related field.
  2. Experience: 3+ years of experience in data protection or information security, with a strong understanding of PDPL and related regulations.
  3. Skills: Strong knowledge of data protection technologies and DLP tools, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and relevant certifications like CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT.
