Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Strategist to join our team at the University of Prince Mugrin.

About the Role:

The Chief Financial Strategist will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that support the university's long-term growth and stability. This role involves providing financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Trustees, as well as overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Management:
    • Develop comprehensive financial strategies to align with the university's strategic objectives.
    • Provide regular financial updates and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Trustees.
  • Budgeting and Financial Planning:
    • Lead the development of annual budgets in collaboration with university leadership.
    • Monitor financial performance and recommend adjustments as necessary.
    • Oversee multi-year financial planning and forecasting.
  • Cash Flow and Investment Management:
    • Manage cash flow to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
    • Oversee investment strategies in alignment with the university's financial policies.
  • Financial Risk Management and Internal Controls:
    • Establish and maintain internal financial controls to mitigate risks.
    • Identify financial risks and implement strategies to minimize their impact.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and non-profit accounting principles.
  • Experience in higher education or non-profit sector is strongly preferred.
