About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead key elements of the site-based post-contract delivery of our cost management activities. As a key member of our team, you will have daily interaction with the rest of the AECOM site supervision team.

Key Responsibilities

  • To achieve the highest standards of professional competence and demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the firm.
  • Integrate with key members of the design team and client team to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Assist in evaluating claims and preparing financial updates and monthly cost reports.
  • Assess and value progress payments and change requests, and review and compare scopes of work, production rates, and cost data.
  • Prepare earned value reports and estimate variation orders for contractors/subcontractors.
  • Evaluate and negotiate variations and change orders in liaison with the contract administrator, design, and construction teams.
  • Evaluate and negotiate final accounts settlements.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience with large-scale projects, with experience in major mixed-use projects being essential.
  • Excellent communication and formal English language skills are considered essential.
  • 48-hour, 6-day working week.

Desirable Skills

  • High level of literacy skills in English, with Arabic speaking considered a benefit.
  • Excellent working knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Ability to lead our commercial team on a giga mixed-use project.
  • Knowledge of cost and contract management techniques, budget management, and change control.
  • Ability to present confidently and act with discretion and safeguarding confidentiality of project data.
  • Computer literate, with specific experience in cost management software programs.
