Job Description:

Job Purpose:

Asterix Communications seeks a highly skilled Senior Substation Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated systems for power distribution and substations, ensuring efficient and reliable operations. The ideal candidate will analyze requirements, design automation solutions, oversee system integration, conduct testing, and provide ongoing support for optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Engagement and Requirements:
    Analyze customer requirements related to SCADA systems, conduct meetings with customers and clients as necessary, and ensure effective communication.
  2. Technical Specifications and Design:
    Develop and complete all technical specifications outlined in the tender document, design the system architecture, generate Bill of Materials (BOM), and initiate procurement for SCADA equipment.
  3. Quality Control and Testing:
    Resolve production stage issues, address technical concerns through quality control/testing processes, conduct comprehensive testing of SCADA equipment, software, and components, and generate relevant test reports.
  4. Safety Procedures:
    Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
  5. Site Testing and Commissioning:
    Conduct on-site testing and commissioning activities for the SCADA system.
Role Accountabilities:
  1. Leadership and Team Management:
    Train subordinates, form a team, provide leadership, coaching, and direction, delegate tasks, and ensure fair distribution of work to maintain morale and motivation.
  2. Delivery and Performance:
    Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets, utilize resources effectively, and provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
  3. Problem-Solving and Escalation:
    Resolve related problems and escalate complex operational issues.
  4. Business Process Improvements:
    Coordinate written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities.
  5. Compliance:
    Comply with related policy and procedures and work instructions.
Requirements:

Academic Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering

Work Experience: 5 to 10 Years

Technical / Functional Competencies: Substation Automation Systems
