Project Manager Job Description

The Project Manager is a key role at Giza Systems, responsible for managing key clients' projects. This role is crucial to the success of the project, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and within scope. The Project Manager will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of the project. Regular reports will be prepared for upper management regarding the project's status.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Manage projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
  2. Coordinate and complete projects successfully.
  3. Prepare and submit project reports to upper management.
  4. Communicate with the Head of PM and presales team to ensure successful project management.
  5. Work with the contracts team to review client contracts and mitigate implementation risks.
  6. Manage the handover process from the bidding team to the operations team.
  7. Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
  8. Prepare detailed project time plans with stakeholders.
  9. Identify and acknowledge project risks, and develop applicable action plans.
  10. Communicate project objectives, targets, and responsibilities to all concerned parties.
  11. Monitor project progress and manage day-to-day activities to ensure successful delivery.
  12. Represent Giza Systems in meetings and communications with client representatives.
  13. Ensure continuous and periodical communication between all stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  14. Manage challenges and issues proactively to ensure client satisfaction.
  15. Coordinate with procurement, purchasing, and logistics regarding material ordering and delivery.
  16. Review and undertake quality assurance on client deliverables.
  17. Follow up on stage approvals with the client and compile acceptance sheets.
  18. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  19. Monitor invoicing and notify Finance of necessary interim invoices.
  20. Support and ensure revenue collection with the client.
  21. Follow and ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and financial systems.
  22. Highlight areas of slippage and initiate corrective action.
  23. Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using verification techniques.
  24. Report and escalate to management as needed.
  25. Track project performance to analyze successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  26. Ensure project revenue/cash status matches planned for both In/Out.
  27. Manage the relationship with the client and ensure proper communication is maintained.
  28. Update the Account Manager on project progress and development.
  29. Review project progress with the Head of PM and Region Operations Manager.
  30. Manage the relationship with suppliers and key subcontractors.
  31. Review subcontractor time plans and intervene when necessary.
  32. Ensure all internal stakeholders are aware of their important role in the project.
  33. Allocate resources on the project, assign work to the team, and monitor progress.
  34. Manage staff chargeability and project costs to ensure they are within budget.
  35. Assess the training needs of the team within projects.
  36. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  37. Manage customer correspondences and be accountable for project important documents.
  38. Document project progress and track progress against planned/required.
  39. Manage the transfer of knowledge of technical deliverables to the client.
  40. Prepare and submit monthly project progress reports.
  41. Develop a lessons learned log to maintain customer/industry/technology knowledge.

Requirements:

  1. 7-10 years of experience in a project management position in a relevant field.
  2. Proven working experience in project management.
  3. Project Management Professional (PMP) or another PM certification is a must.
  4. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  5. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office & MS Project.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering with a Specialization in Communication or Computer.
