Job Description:

A Data Virtualization (DV) Engineer will work closely with our team of developers to focus on piloting, designing, and developing DV solutions that meet Micron Manufacturing systems' needs. This position is a key member of a team that establishes a standardized companywide DV environment and enforces DV compliance based on defined governance guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate and influence Center of Excellence strategies around DV Product vision, operating model, backlogs, and growth opportunities.
  2. Work with business and IT developers to assess and discover opportunities for DV solutions that increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  3. Manage interactions with end users, vendors, and developers to lead design, development, testing, and maintenance of DV projects across the organization.
  4. Select the appropriate set of technological tools and features for DV projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise guidelines.
  5. Ensure standards, compliance, and institutionalization of standard methodology.
  6. Evaluate all work with alignment to architecture standards, focusing on scalability and extensibility.
  7. Align with Micron Security, Identity, and access management.
  8. Document, raise, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  9. Communicate clearly with internal and external business partners.
  10. Raise issues and risks to management where appropriate.

Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics/Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience in building and managing virtualized views and data services that access, transform, and deliver data required by business.
  3. Knowledge of SQL standards and stored procedures, capable of linking and relating multiple data sources to ensure accurate and efficient queries with good performance.
  4. Experience with maintaining and administering DV platform in high availability and scalable environments.
  5. Understanding of DV landscape trends and emerging technologies in the Data Virtualization domain.
  6. Passion for continuously improving organizational practices.
  7. Creative approach to implementing innovative IT solutions to resolve meaningful business problems.
  8. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  9. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly changing work environment.
  10. Software project management skills and exposure to agile development methodologies are advantageous.
