The successful candidate will be part of our team supporting the project controls teams in client offices, working closely with the project controls teams to manage project costs and ensure their integration with risk, change, and schedule management in accordance with client standards and processes.

  • Managing project costs and integrating them with risk, change, and schedule management according to client standards and processes.
  • Working closely with the project controls teams to ensure effective cost management.
  • Developing and implementing project control structures (CBS, OBS, WBS, etc.).
  • Understanding the basis of estimates and ensuring their accuracy.
  • Ensuring all cost and contract transactions on a project are understood and managed appropriately.
  • Communicating variances to the cost baseline in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining the necessary cost management interface with Finance and ensuring regular communications.
  • Supporting the client planning process.
  • Actively participating in the change process, understanding the reasons for and factors influencing each change to the project's cost baseline plus the implications of such change.
  • Continually monitoring Project Risk and Change status to maintain current forecast.
  • Reviewing and understanding, with the assistance of the Planning Engineer, the schedule progress and its alignment to the Project Control Structure.
  • Liaising with Project team members and contractors with regards to progress and financial forecasting.
  • Updating the Cost Tool to comply with Project Reporting Cycles.
  • Monitoring, controlling, and analysing the project cost information, identifying variances and bringing these to the attention of the Project Manager with possible alternatives.
  • Preparing specific reports to facilitate challenge and analysis to meet the project's specific needs.
  • Challenging cost variances against the baseline plan with individual task leaders/contractors and/or outside stakeholder management as necessary to enable mitigation.
  • Contributing to progress meetings as required in support of the Project Manager.
  • Regular interfacing and integration with the project Planning Engineer to maintain an aligned financial position with the project Primavera plan.
  • Contributing to the drafting and updating of Project Documents (PDD, IRM papers etc.) to ensure they contain the project Scope of Work, KPI's, payment milestones and the methodology for controlling the project schedule, costs and variances etc.
  • Contributing to lessons learnt process at project close out.
