Job Title: Credit Controller

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by effectively managing credit and collections. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with customers, internal teams, and management to ensure timely payments and minimize credit risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers to ensure accurate risk assessments.
  • Establish and monitor credit limits to prevent excessive exposure.
  • Make informed recommendations regarding credit approvals or rejections based on thorough evaluations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to collect outstanding debts and resolve any disputes or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of collections and follow-up actions to ensure seamless tracking.
  • Generate and send out accurate and timely invoices to customers.
  • Verify invoice accuracy and resolve any billing issues to prevent errors.
  • Coordinate with the billing department to ensure prompt invoice delivery and minimize delays.
  • Allocate payments to customer accounts accurately to prevent misallocations.
  • Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date and identify any discrepancies.
  • Process payments, refunds, and adjustments as needed to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable and collections status to inform business decisions.
  • Analyze aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and take proactive measures to mitigate credit risk.
  • Implement credit control policies and procedures to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to evaluate credit limits for customer accounts and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication with customers regarding outstanding balances and negotiate repayment plans when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role is essential.
  • Strong understanding of credit and collections processes is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to credit and collections is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential for effective customer interactions.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are necessary for maintaining accurate records and ensuring seamless operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential for success in this role.
