Job Summary

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Chemical Engineer to join our team. As a Chemical Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating chemical process technology and equipment, designing and testing chemical processing and associated plants and equipment, and overseeing the construction, modification, operation, and maintenance of pilot plants, processing units, or processing plants.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate and select the most suitable chemical process technology and equipment to meet production specifications.
  2. Design and develop chemical processing and associated plants and equipment to optimize production and minimize waste.
  3. Oversee the construction, modification, operation, and maintenance of pilot plants, processing units, or processing plants to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  4. Prepare and evaluate contract documents and tenders for the process aspects of industrial construction.
  5. Supervise and lead a team of technicians, technologists, and other engineers to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  6. Develop and implement manufacturing processes that minimize waste and increase the quality of finished products.
  7. Monitor and test processes and products throughout all phases of production to ensure quality and efficiency.
  8. Develop and implement safety procedures for staff working with hazardous materials to ensure a safe working environment.
  9. Design, plan, and implement the layout of manufacturing equipment to optimize production and decrease costs.
  10. Use computer-aided design and simulation tools to compile and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  11. Establish and maintain safety and waste management procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Chemical Engineer or similar role.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, verbal and written communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to cooperate and communicate with others, especially those without a technical background.
  • Computer literacy to run simulations and conduct ongoing research.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Chemical Engineer.
