Job Overview:

The Electrical Quality Assurance Specialist is a critical role within TXM Manpower Solutions, responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of electrical installations across various projects. This position involves close collaboration with construction teams, project managers, and MEP engineers to verify that electrical systems meet the required standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) plans for electrical works, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical installations to ensure compliance with design and quality standards, including wiring, switchgear, transformers, lighting, and control panels.
  • Assist in preparing method statements and quality control procedures for electrical activities, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruptions.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations to identify and address any non-conformities, ensuring that all electrical work meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship at various stages of the installation process, verifying compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Ensure the correct use and installation of electrical components according to manufacturers' instructions and safety standards, minimizing the risk of electrical hazards.

Testing and Commissioning:

  • Participate in electrical testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, earth resistance tests, and functional performance tests, to ensure that electrical systems meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Verify the calibration and certification of testing instruments and ensure tests are conducted in line with QA/QC requirements, maintaining the highest level of accuracy and reliability.
  • Witness and document testing and commissioning results for submission to the QA/QC manager or client, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and audits performed, documenting any non-conformance issues and corrective actions taken, ensuring seamless tracking and analysis.
  • Prepare and submit regular QA/QC reports, highlighting key findings and corrective measures, to stakeholders and project managers.
  • Review and ensure the completeness of project handover documents, including as-built drawings, test reports, and commissioning records, ensuring a smooth transition to the client.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure that all electrical installations meet local and international standards, including health, safety, and environmental regulations, minimizing the risk of non-compliance and associated penalties.
  • Verify compliance with project specifications and contractual obligations, ensuring that all electrical work meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Assist in audits conducted by external parties or regulatory bodies, ensuring that TXM Manpower Solutions maintains the highest level of compliance and adherence to industry standards.

Non-Conformance Management:

  • Identify, report, and manage any non-conformances found during inspections and testing activities, ensuring prompt corrective action and minimal disruptions to the project.
  • Coordinate with site teams to implement corrective actions and ensure that rectified works are re-inspected and signed off, maintaining the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Develop and follow up on punch lists for incomplete or defective works, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruptions.

Site Monitoring and Supervision:

  • Monitor site activities to ensure electrical installations progress in accordance with the project schedule and QA/QC requirements, minimizing delays and disruptions.
  • Verify that all electrical works are performed safely, ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and minimizing the risk of electrical hazards.
  • Conduct joint inspections with the client or consultant as required, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Training and Support:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to site staff and subcontractors on quality and safety-related matters, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruptions.
  • Participate in internal quality audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that TXM Manpower Solutions maintains the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Assist in training junior inspectors and team members on QA/QC processes and standards, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and minimal disruptions.

Coordination with Other Disciplines:

  • Collaborate with other QA/QC inspectors for MEP systems (mechanical, plumbing) to ensure coordination and integration of services, minimizing delays and disruptions.
  • Participate in site meetings with engineers, project managers, and contractors to address quality-related issues, ensuring seamless communication and minimal disruptions.
  • Ensure that electrical inspections are coordinated with other MEP works to avoid delays, minimizing disruptions and ensuring seamless execution.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and industry standards.
  • Certified in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) practices, with a strong understanding of quality management principles and industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including high and low-voltage installations, control systems, and power distribution, with a strong understanding of industry standards and specifications.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing procedures and relevant codes/standards (IEC, NEC, BS), with a strong understanding of testing and commissioning requirements.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings, with a strong understanding of industry standards and specifications.
  • Experience with electrical testing tools and equipment, with a strong understanding of testing and commissioning requirements.
  • Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong understanding of quality management principles and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and reporting abilities, with a strong understanding of industry standards and specifications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple inspections, with a strong understanding of quality management principles and industry standards.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in QA/QC inspection roles, particularly within MEP or electrical projects, with a strong understanding of industry standards and specifications.
  • Proven experience in quality assurance/control in large-scale construction projects, particularly with electrical installations, with a strong understanding of quality management principles and industry standards.
