Data Center Operations Manager, Infrastructure Expert

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all of Amazon's global infrastructure.
We're a team of experts who keep the cloud running smoothly, supporting all AWS data centers and ensuring our customers have uninterrupted access to the innovative services they rely on.
Our work involves addressing complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. We're looking for talented individuals who can help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing scalable infrastructure at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
About The RoleYou'll be joining a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing and developing teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise, and ensuring high levels of performance.
You'll also be responsible for maintaining existing co-located and in-house Data Centres, helping build and bring online new Data Centres, improving processes and procedures, and assisting with relationships between internal teams and external vendors.

- Maintaining existing co-located and in-house Data Centres.
- Helping build and bring online new Data Centres.
- Improving all processes and procedures.
- Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors.
- Liaising with internal teams & management groups.
- Ensuring adherence to local Health & Safety standards in all Data Centres.
- Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of Data Centres and using those metrics to drive positive changes.
- Implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.
- An engineering degree or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant engineering experience in managing DC, IT Operations or similar roles with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- 5+ years building & managing strong, successful technical teams in a similar culture with ITIL Management Experience.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects and ability to consistently deliver results despite competing priorities and distractions.
- Prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team and/or product.
- Security and Health & Safety awareness.
- Technical depth to pass at least one of our Network Engineer, Systems Engineer or Developer Support Engineer skill set.
- Project Management Experience.
- Extensive OE and or Agile experience.
- Capacity planning and budgetary experience.
- Experience in Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma is preferable.
- Change Management & Fault Management.
