Job Purpose:

The Islamic Development Bank is seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Analyst to support the development and implementation of its portfolio management strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational and analytical support to the bank's portfolio management unit, ensuring the effective implementation of its projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Support:
    • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of portfolio management activities, work plans, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Support the development and execution of fund policies and procedures for the portfolio management unit.
    • Collect and analyze data on global trends that could impact the bank's portfolio, utilizing the data to draft strategic recommendations.
    • Prepare briefing materials and talking points related to policy and strategy foresight for senior bank staff.
    • Provide support for the organization of bank committees, including maintaining an annual calendar, managing email lists, and reviewing translations of documents.
  • aRBM Analysis and Support:
    • Assist in the implementation of the results framework and aRBM systems, including associated processes and tools.
    • Support the monitoring of data quality and completeness for tracking portfolio performance and evidence-based decision making.
    • Collect and analyze large and complex data sets to understand the impact of the bank's projects and the overall fund on its intended goals.
    • Develop and maintain the portfolio data dashboard, reports, and visualizations that effectively communicate data insights to internal partners and external stakeholders.
  • Coordination, Communication & Follow-Up:
    • Support the preparation and management of communication and visibility media materials related to specific projects and/or the bank's portfolio.
    • Collaborate closely with the communications team to ensure consistency and alignment with the bank's messaging and branding guidelines.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Development:
    • Share best practices and identify areas where the bank can make contributions.
    • Share knowledge and experience of the bank's projects with other units within the bank and seek opportunities for joint collaborations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, international development, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in operational or programmatic support, with a focus on data analysis and/or monitoring and evaluation.
Skills & Necessary Knowledge:
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative data analytics skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
