Job Summary

Yelleb is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Medicine Specialist to join our esteemed team of healthcare professionals. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine health check-ups, preventive care, and screening programs to promote healthy lifestyles and detect potential health issues early.
  • Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and other long-term conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through ongoing care and monitoring.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures and emergency care as needed, including suturing, wound care, and basic trauma management.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, incorporating patient preferences and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Coordinate with specialists, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care, including referrals for specialized treatment when necessary.
  • Provide expert consultation and second opinions on complex cases, ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, follow-ups, and outcomes.
  • Engage in patient education, counseling on lifestyle modifications, disease prevention, and health maintenance.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, care plans, and treatment strategies.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and medical students in family medicine.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in family medicine, incorporating new knowledge and practices into patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines within the department.
  • Participate in the hospital's quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, focusing on enhancing care delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Engage in clinical research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the advancement of family medicine.
  • Provide leadership in community health initiatives, promoting public health and wellness programs.
Working Conditions
  • Working Hours: 48 hours per week, with flexible straight shifts (daytime and afternoon).
  • Contract Period: Initial 2-year contract, renewable upon mutual agreement.
  • Probation Period: 6 months.
  • Family Contract: Includes candidate, spouse, and up to two children.
Requirements
  • Medical School Graduation: Must be a graduate of a recognized medical school accredited by the Medical Council of the country of origin.
  • Specialty Training: Must have successfully completed specialty training in Family Medicine, with certification from either Tier 1 or Tier 2 qualifications as recognized by the SCFHS.
  • Subspecialty: Any subspecialty qualification is considered an added advantage.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required for Tier 1 qualifications, and at least 5 years of professional experience post-certification for Tier 2 qualifications.
