Job OverviewThis role involves facilitating, monitoring, and ensuring the implementation of the Environmental Health and Safety Management System on the shop floor.
Main Responsibilities- Provide EHS advice and guidance to plant teams using different approaches to implement and comply with all EHS requirements.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of EHS policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular checks and inspections and prepare related reports.
- Conduct behavioral safety observations and support the development of a site-based safety program.
- Coordinate EHS training sessions as identified by the EHS manager.
- Develop effective communication channels for various levels of the business through weekly bulletins and notice boards.
- Ensure fire alarm and firefighting systems are ready for use and take necessary actions in case of malfunctions.
- Distribute, check, and arrange for the periodical inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishers.
- Monitor compliance on the shop floor regarding PPEs, KSBs, and SWPs, addressing immediate required actions and escalating when necessary.
- Update safety logs and file and control all safety records.
- Check and update EHS communication means and report any incorrect situations.
The ideal candidate should possess a BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related quantitative discipline. A recognized EHS qualification such as NEBOSH IGC3 is preferred. Proficiency in Ms-office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, is essential.
