Job Description

  • Main responsibility is supporting the Middle East and Africa (MEA) Cluster.
  • Provide legal expertise and support in either a specific legal competence area (specialist competence) and/or all fields of business and commercial law (generalist competence area), including commercial contracts, research and development, product liability, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property (except for patents and designs) through sound commercial, legal, and ethical risk assessments.
  • Proactively partner with and advise management on potential legal matters to maximize business opportunities.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts. Implementing and actively participating in the continuous improvement of related policies and processes, template agreements, and supporting tools.
  • Educating business colleagues in legal competence areas and/or commercial contracts, corporate governance, and ethics, and ensuring knowledge sharing within the legal and compliance team.
  • Managing and coordinating disputes and litigations in liaison with external counsel.
  • Keep updated on legislative trends and changes, and support the business to mitigate risks that may affect the business.
  • Substantial travel required within the Cluster, particularly to Dubai.

Qualification and Experience:

  • We are looking for a qualified lawyer with a Master of Laws (LL.M) and around 7 years of experience from an international group of companies or reputable law firm.

To be successful in this role:

  • You have solid experience in compliance areas and key risk management areas, as well as experience from working with general corporate and governance matters.
  • You must be an analytical, solution-oriented, and business-minded person with a high work capacity.
  • You have excellent language skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
  • You have excellent communication skills and great ability to work in a group.
  • Good understanding of Business Resilience Management (Emergency response, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity Management) is a merit.
