Purpose of the Job

At Duncan & Ross, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to oversee the preparation of procurement packages, review electrical designs, and evaluate shop drawings. This role ensures that electrical systems and components are designed and implemented according to project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare procurement packages for electrical systems and components, collaborating with the procurement team to ensure technical specifications and requirements are accurately included.
  • Provide input on vendor selection and procurement processes to ensure alignment with project needs.
  • Review electrical designs received from consultants to ensure they meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Assess the feasibility, accuracy, and completeness of design submissions, providing feedback and recommendations for design improvements or modifications as necessary.
  • Review shop drawings submitted by subcontractors to ensure compliance with project design criteria and specifications, verifying the accuracy of electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and equipment details.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to address any discrepancies or required revisions in the shop drawings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on design, procurement, and project execution.
  • Proven experience in preparing procurement packages and reviewing design and shop drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
